Project Brief
The interior renewal of the Lajpat Nagar Police Station focused on transforming a cluttered, overburdened space into a clear, efficient, and dignified public environment. As one of the city's key civic touchpoints, the station needed to balance authority with approachability while supporting high daily footfall. The existing interior suffered from exposed services, uneven lighting, heavy furniture, and poorly defined zones between reception, helpdesk, and work areas. Visual noise from scattered signage and cluttered desks further reduced clarity and functionality.
Our approach prioritised essential, cost conscious interventions over cosmetic upgrades. A redesigned false ceiling concealed wiring and improved lighting quality, instantly creating a cleaner visual plane. Existing Kota stone flooring was retained to optimise budget and reduce waste. Partitions were reworked to establish clearer zoning, while maintaining openness and ease of supervision. The reception was decluttered to streamline workflow, and a dedicated women's helpdesk introduced a more welcoming interface. Lighter furniture, integrated wall graphics, and subtle planting softened the atmosphere without compromising institutional presence.
The result is a calmer, more organised civic interior that enhances public interaction while improving day to day operational efficiency.
